It all began on the Brooklyn Bridge on a sunny August day. While attending a workshop on B/W photography with the late Jack Manning, a virtuoso photojournalist at The New York Times. After taking pictures from every angle for more than an hour, my young son who had accompanied me, and was excitedly waiting for us to walk across the bridge, decided to go alone -- as I watched him walk away -- suddenly, that was it, the perfect shot! That photo has been my signature image ever since. We never did get across the bridge that day. (see my galleries: New York, New York)
